INFM members:

The Working Group for Archives and Records Management under the Common
Services initiative in NY is currently piloting an inter-agency Digital
Archives Project (DAP) which involves the active participation of the UN
Secretariat, UNDP, UNICEF, UNOPS and UNFPA. The pilot project is to begin
phase 2 - Strategic Planning which is expected to be completed by the last
quarter of 2003. This initiative is linked to the UN Strengthening of
Security project which is underway. Further details on the DAP may be
provided to those who are interested.

1. In relation to the above, we would like to ask the INFM members as to
whether Archives/Records Keeping (in both electronic and hardcopy formats)
would fall under your administrative authority and oversight.

2. If so, would there be any interest in this subject as being a 1-day
working theme for INFM-5 (2004)?

of Library and Archives - if feasible - to report to the final day plenary.
